When is a chair not a chair?
When it's indestructable. Commissioned in the early 40s by the U. S. Navy, the "1006" is a time-honored classic that is as useful as it is iconic. Manufactured by Emeco in Hanover PA to this day, the 1006 is created using 77 manufacturing steps. It's even had a documentary made about it, appropriately titled "77 Steps" by Eames Demetrios, grandson of designer Charles Eames.
Three times stronger than steel, the aluminum resists corrosion and can stand up to the harshest treatment. If it's still in use aboard aircraft carriers and submarines, we're betting that even the most careless owner can't impact this chair's beauty.
